Dashboard Ambient Lights Not Working

Featured Replies

The red ambient dashboard horizontal strip light and 'coin' pocket overhead light (in front of gear stick) are not working when lights are switched on in my daughter's 2009 Fiesta 1.25 Petrol Zetec. All other lighting works as it should.

Does anyone know of anything specific to these two items that may be causing the problem? I assume in Ford interior wiring diagram they are referred to as 'LH dashboard ambient light' and 'RH...', as there are no others 'ambient lights'.

Maybe it's a fuse?

Did the pre facelift come with ambient lighting?

  • Author

Checked all the fuses (I can find) and all OK.

So, did the pre-facelift come with ambient lighting? Certainly my 2010 1.4 Tdi Zetec has both the horizontal strip light on the dash in front of passenger seat and the coin pocket light (in front of gear stick), both working when the sidelights are switched on.

My daugher's 2009 1.25 Petrol Zetec has these lights fitted but they will not work. I have now discovered that the power-source plug/loom for the pocket light is not there although the socket (inclusive to the pocket) is.

Q's:

1. Should the ambient strip and ambient pocket light be working in a 2009 1.25 Petrol Zetec?

2. Where is the socket located for the strip light?

Thanks.

Have you gone through the settings menu on the radio?
