Heated Front Windscreen Not Working 100% - Same Fault As Focus?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

It seems that my heated front screen isn't working 100% across, the drivers side isn't fully clearing, am I correct to say that the mk6 Fiesta has the same issue with the heated front window as the Focus - eg the wiper motor assembly continuously knocks the ribbon?

Just thought I would ask before removing any trim pieces to find out!

Hi Mitch

on my 15 reg fiesta the heated front screen connectors are behind the A post trims.

Hmm thanks for that, I will double check where the cables are - might just be something simple as a fuse as I believe both sides are fused separately, mine is a 2007 56 plate though.

The heater in windscreen has two fuses,

One for drivers side and one for passengers

so if it's clearing a perfect 50% then the fuse is blown or removed,

The wiper motion in the above video is quite therapeutic 😩

I will go and check the fuses, I found that the 12v socket fuse had gone yesterday so have a box of mini blade fuses on order - hopefully its something simple as a fuse, will report back!

Edit - just checked them, both 30A fuses are fine, however I think they might be the original fuses and they seem to have slightly tarnished contacts - I will replace these with brand new ones soon, but have tried to remove some of the tarnishing on the old ones - might work, might not.

Find the relay that switches the power also it could well be that as they do wear out with age. They should click when in use.

I will check those as well then, are there separate relays for each side as well?
