Usb Port Not Quite Right

Hi guys I can't seen to connect anything to my USB port. Is there something wrong with it here's a pic and can any1 explane what the problem is. Thanks

Looks like it is broken, the plastic part in the middle of the port is missing:

It also looks like the power and data pins are shorting to the outer shield (ground) which won't help.

Wish I saw this before fitting my armrest I would of changed it then. Can I just buy the part?

Looks like it is a separate part. Any Ford dealer should be able to source it, fordpartsuk are usually well priced.

Otherwise if you can find a car from a local scrappy, or possibly find the part on ebay from a scrappy.

I can't see it being that expensive from Ford, but you never know, lol.

Scrap that I just removed it to have a look it's one piece with a wire going to God know where so not so simple after all

The wire goes to the Bluetooth unit which is located under the passenger footwell, This is the case on the mk7 and im fairly sure its the same on the 7.5

Well I going to take to ford's where I bought it from buts let's see if they try and blame me for breaking it. It's the first time I went to use it today only had the car 2months

You might be lucky and get it done under warranty.

Could go down as electrical and/or manufacturing defect causing premature failure.

Not of satisfactory quality, etc.
