that's Lucky

Very Lucky

The silver BMW seemed to take more of the stray axle impact

Just by looking at the pic I'm wondering if it's the Beemers fault :)

Could he have been overtaking the white van, not seen the tractor and trailer coming the other way, collided with the trailer hence ripping off the axel?

That would make sense, particularly as typical BMW drivers tend to be unobservant of other road users

There's no bolts holding that axel on maybe they were rusting badly

How very patronising of you! Next you'll be saying he didn't indicate before the overtake! ;) :)

I definitely think poor maintenance could be part of the problem as well. The different tyre types is a big clue.

Lack of trailer maintenance + BMW driving = shed axle :)

How does the Focus driver fill out the claim form. Eh an axle from a trailer landed on the roof of my car.

Can you please explain in more detail sir

Well, if he thinks his car's a Focus I'd question his eyesight for a start :-)

all concerned had lucky escape drivers angels where on duty today

Ok then Fiesta :D

if not me thinks either his household or public liability insurance is goner take a big hit.

They have to have insurance, public liability(mud on road for example), employers liability then your usual driving on the road insurance. Not sure if they're are other insurances we have, oh yea land/crop insurance, milk insurance(if you fail on antibiotics, chemical, cell counts or water) asset insurance(fertiliser etc). That's it off the top of my head

If you think that was a lucky escape, I hope there was no one in that fiesta.

Well I think its a fiesta titanium by the wheels and rear reflector?

Spares or repair?

very lucky escape could have fallen on the houses

Odd tyres on that axle too !. Could that have affected it's stability ?. Were the tyre pressures correct ?.

Yikes.

I would be intrigued to see the actual damage to the fiesta, but holy cow!!!

It'll polish out!
