Samsung Phone

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to delete the auto back up photos on the Samsung Galaxy s4.

Trying to get some of the garbage off my phone, Can take photos off no problem on the phone and memory card on the phone except for on the auto back up part.

Seems when I go into the auto back up part of the photo gallery and select it, Then select the options it has a few different options, but nothing to delete photos.

I've got a Samsung phone but not the S4.

Do you use Samsung's proprietary Kies software on the S4, from your PC/laptop/tablet

On my rather ancient S8500, back up is done within Kies and you can delete them from there.

Having said the OS of S4 is android: S8500 is Bada, so it may completely different

Yes everything is backed up onto pc I think. Its just that I cant get them off my phone as its not allowing me to delete the photos from the phone.

I went over to Samsungs website, to see if I could out how to do it. Which for the time being, it's not obvious :(

I assume you've got these manuals:

Yes had a look on the Samsung site myself. Thanks anyway mate.

Is it through Google photos?

Have you looked on photos.google.com

Might just be showing them but not actually stored on your phone.

Have you checked the contents of your phone storage and sd with a file manager?

On my Moto 3 and i use google photos on Lollipop system it wont let me delete a photo on the photo app.

On the phone i go to the file folder(manager) and delete from there which takes it from the photo app then.

I use Photo bucket for my auto-backup to pc and google photo as a manual one to google drive on pc.

I cant remember where it is they go to for storing. Will need to double check. As you have probably gathered Im not that clever when it comes to the phone :D Was hoping there was an easy option I was missing. I think they go to my g mail. not sure. both mine and the wifes photos go to there I think. So don't want to go deleting things incase I delete hers. Think that's how I got them come to think about it. I think she backed her photos up and they also went to my phone too as 90% of the photos Im trying to delete are from her phone.

Its probably thumbnails which have been left behind...

I have the S4 mini, and to be honest I havent cleaned it out much beyond running garbage cleaners every few days :p
