BeebZetec
Hi guys, I am new to this forum, so pardon me if I have posted this in the wrong section. I have a 64 Plate Ford Fiesta Zetec that had stock originals 15" 195/55R15 wheels on. I recently just upgraded them to the 17" 205/40R17 ST Wheels. Everything seems to be OK, but on my dashboard the "Tyre Monitor Malfunction" error has appeared. I have been reading around online and know that it is because of the pressure sensors. I just want to know if I can swap over the sensors from the old tyres into the new ones? Also I know both sets of tyres have rubber valves (Which I believe is where you pump it with air from). Sorry I am new to all of this. I would appreciate it if you could get back to me. Thanks.
iantt
Yes you can swap them over, but the difficulty is in removing the rubber part of sensor, so I would buy 4 of the rubber part of sensors and refit the electronic part of sensors, the 2 parts are held together with a screw. jeebowhite
HI Habeeb, Its probably a case of the new wheels not having the integrated sensors, either that, or its not got the right configuration for the new tyre size and subsequent pressures. iantt
You can see how it fits together.
CREED
You'll be better off using the old sensors as new ones will have to be calibrated by Ford. They are reusable though
