62 Plate Ford Focus No Blowers

Featured Replies

Hi all need some advice.i have a 62 plate ford focus ecoboost 1.0. Have an issue now where the blowers have stopped working. First of all 1-3 and then four was working now nothing.so ive googled and was informed it xould be heater resistor pack which i received to day from parts company, managed to find the part on car and plugged it in and still nothing.ive checked the fuses they look ok.none burnt out.i phoned ford and they want 65 quid just to plug in computer. Any advice.cheers in advance

Pluging computer wont find any thing. Do you know which fuse it is or you checking all of them ,

Check fuse 10 40amp and fuse 23 5amp , both in engine bay fuse box

Ok thankyou i will check those tommorrow.i didn't think a diagnostic check would do anything.

Its quite a etraight forward circuit, theres also a relay in the fuse box to check , or swap with another one the same in the fusebox

Well im stumped ive checked every fuse, plugged in a heater reistor pack from a breakers i got and still nothing.looks like an expensive trip to the garage

Have you got a multimeter or test light?

Did you find the relay and swap with another the same?

Yes swapped relays round made no difference. Dont have a volt meter wouldnt know what im looking for.

ok, sounds like youve done all you can, time to take it to garage for them to test circuits and see whats wrong.

Possible that the blower motor was failing, so caused the resistor pack to fail.

The motor may well have failed as a result of being run at full whack whilst failing?

As we speak, my fiesta is acting up. Blower was failing, stripped it and lubed it up. New resistor pack and fuses. 1-2-3 fine, 4 pops the 30 amp fuse. Tried a 35 to see what would happen. The blower speeds up, then slows right down and smells like burning electrics :(

Possible that you've had similar..
