Slow Gearchange On Powershift

Featured Replies

I have a 1 year old 1L eco powershift Fiesta. Recently, when I put my foot down a bit at say 30mph, it revs up to about 5000 revs and then changes gear. The delay seems to be about a second. Is this normal? I'm not sure it was like that before.

Thanks,

Jon

One of the many issues with power shift I'm afraid mate.

Can Ford fix it or is this a kind of permanent thing?

I think Ford have extended the warranty on the PowerShift gearbox. Let them sort it.

Good luck.

No probs here powershift gear changes shifting quick in my car and even better in the S mode.

maybe to do that my car is remaped to 148 HP

Take it back to the dealers, could be the common problem of oil leaking onto the clutch pack.

I've got a 65 plate 1.0 ecoboost Powershift and what you describe is becoming common on mine too. My cars done 2650 miles from new. The first 1000 miles great but since then it lurches, runs away and gets muddled on hills and when slowing down and turning.

The wife's focus is awful, I swear the gearbox has dementia, hasn't got a clue where the next shift should go leading to moments of hesitation while the !Removed! thing tries to sort its life out. My old Saab Sensonic did a much better job of clutch control, and that's a system from the 90's
