New Clutch Replaced Gears Still Catching

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Climate.I have recently (yesterday) had the clutch replaced. The garage said the clutch that was in was down to the rivets and it couldnt have been changed sooner.

However before the clutch was replaced in noticed there was a slight catching when selecting gear which first alerted me to it.The gear doesnt crunch it just doesnt go in smoothly mainly on 3rd and sometimes when moving changing from 1st to 2nd.Now the clutch has been replaced i expected silky smooth gear changes but is hasnt worked out like that.I am concerned because the clutch was so bad the gear box is now knackered or am i just being paranoid.I dont know if a new clutch needs time to bed in.

Take it back and get it looked at mate sooner rather than later otherwise they will just blame you, this doesn't sound right to me.

The clutch doesn't effect how the shifts feel, only the "bite" when clutching after shifting.
