Ford Fiesta Titanium 2008 Boot Light Won't Work After Changing Bulb

Featured Replies

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me and it's easy to fix :)

I've just bought this car and love it but the boot light doesn't work. I managed to take the bulb out and took it to our local car parts shop so I got the right one! I've tried moving the wires to see if the connection was faulty but nothing happened. Is there a fuse that could be faulty or is it something to do with the boot opening mechanism?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Looks like the same fuse for all interior lighting.

Does the Door Open warning lamp on the dashboard come on when the boot is open ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the door opening warning light on the dashboard comes on when the boot is open ☺

I'm no mechanic (paper crafter) but all the other lights work inside the car :)

Check the switch that's attached to the boot latch mechanism for continuity with a multimeter

Erm is this what you mean?

I'd never heard of a multimeter but Dad might have one because he used to be a mechanic back in the day before everything was computerised.

Don't laugh but as a quick fix I've bought one of these from Wilkos, very bright.

You could connect to the connector to do it yes. I removed the switch on my mk6 (yes I know it's an older car) to test it
