bwoody
I think the factory rear windows tint darkness looks good on the Mk 7.5, no idea what percentage it is unfortunately. I wouldn't tint the front side windows these days, get in too much trouble with the rozzers. I thought I was going to really miss the auto dimming rear view mirror from my last car at night, but the rear window tint does exactly the same job :)
Jeff4155
My Fiesta came standard with this tint, so legal in SA, but I think you guys have to go a bit lighter in the front? works great for me and keeps the SA sun out, which is the most important aspect for me

Stoney871
Invariably UK spec cars come with the maximum legal tint applied at the front. You can go as dark as you like on any windows behind the B pillar but front side windows must allow 70% light through and windscreen must allow 75%. What I dislike the look of is some countries where their front side windows are half'n'half.
MONDEO TXS 2.2
For vehicles first used on 01.04.1985 or after the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through

Jeff4155
Sorry for the late reply, I don't know the exact tint % but my vehicle is factory tinted and it's dark, but inside the vehicle I don't have a problem looking outside, these days I don't even realize how dark it is unless l look from outside in. Got any pictures of yours? Going to get mine done in Feb (only abour £120 ish I think) but wondering what % to go for as I don't want them ridiculously dark (since the front windows are so big) - and obviously don't want the Rozzers coming so only going to do the backs like a good boy! Stoney871
Windscreen must allow 75% light and front side windows 70% by law. You can have rear and rear side windows as dark as you want.

Yeh I knew that I can't really tint any fronts but since mines a 3 door, the passenger and drivers windows are quite large so didnt want to go too dark on the back as it would look a bit silly so just wondered what peoples preferences were for the rear windows :). Want it looking quite smart so don't want too dark
DanJJR
Keep fronts clear, I got pulled for mine on an old car as the copper had a light detection kit thing to show me the amount of light it was blocking. Otherwise I'd recommend 70/80% on backs, not 100% IMO.
Cookey09
Ive booked mine in for the windows doing at my local specialist. Winter offfer on. Supposed to be £175. Getting it done for £100... cant complain ;) Im thinking the 20% shade. As i'll also have tinted wind deflectors on the front so it might be a nice gradual tint through? Im having from the b-pillar back done.
winemart2
100% black is what you need. Zero light entry. Much more exciting driving.
