Range Rover Evoque Footrest Fitted

Featured Replies

I had seen a good few conversations around dead pedal footrests for the Fiesta.

Here is my take on it, I didn't like the ones with the circular holes in them too much as although they matched the older style sports pedals perfectly I didn't think they went with the new pedals that well.

So I came across a footrest meant for a Range Rover Evoque on ebay and thought I would give it a try.

It came with double sided sticky tape already on the back of it, so I just installed it using that for now, seems pretty solid. Will change to velcro if it starts moving at all.

The company I bought it from said the dimensions are 60mm wide at the top 43mm wide at bottom, from top to bottom in the centre it is approx 155mm. I haven't measured it myself but it is a good bit shorter than some of the ones I have seen. I still think it covers the bit of carpet that I wanted to protect well enough.

I am pleased with how it looks, opinions welcome :)

Lockwood sill plates and OEM Fiesta rubber mats to follow soon.

I like that its very neat and clever using a part from another vehicle.

I was going to buy this set for my pedals but not sure now as they are quite expensive.

Thanks, I am pleased with how it looks - I paid just under £18 incl delivery.

That is quite a bit, but at least it is for all the pedals and footrest, I have seen footrests on there own at over £50!!

I only had to buy the footrest as the pedals were factory fit on the ZS

Why ty :) - haha, nothing like bumping your own thread - I thought it looked pretty oem for a part meant for a different car. Definitely stops the carpet getting wet.

The red SPORT badge i affixed to my TXS came from the R.R. SPORT & looks as equally OEM as your footrest - quite a few bits are fittable i think

The sport badge looks good mate, even though the first thing I do is de-badge :)

BTW Mark I noticed you have Bluefin on the Mondeo, how do you find it? and was the insurance hit big for the remap?

I had a custom remap on my old Leon Cupra which was awesome, but not switchable or anything like that.

Considering JLR are still very well tied in with FMC its no surprise their gear looks ok on Fords poke your head in a jag or land rover and marvel at the Volvo electric window and mirror switches.

That looks good I may have to get one for the van. The sport pedals set me back a whopping £22+vat!!!

Very true, happens over a lot of makes these days, VW's with lots of Audi branded parts etc

I had Superchips's Bluefin on my old MK3 ST TDCi, so i knew it would be good & have to say the 2.2 PSA engine really benefits from the extra torque & '' driveability '' although there can be a bit of wheelspin in 1st & 2nd until you get used to it, but the MK4.5 TXS has a habit of tramlining a little anyway.

Because my car is under Fraud warranty i wanted the handset so i could remove & reinstall at will, so I had a bespoke service which entailed a r/r session, map upload, another r/r session, map tweak & the Bluefin device.

There was no insurance premium difference, maybe because of my age & the low-ish mileage i do & the amount of NCB i have & where i live ?

I've found zero downsides & I'd recommend it to anyone with a diesel powered car Brian :)

Sounds like no downsides, I loved the Cupra when it was remapped, I am thinking about mapping the wee Ecoboost just to about 140bhp at some point. I really like the the bluefin as it can be removed for warranty, servicing etc. Great idea. Shouldn't be too bad on that either insurance wise, being old and having plenty no claims bonus.

Nice 31 bhp increase, so 154bhp for £400 - decent increase for the money. Only thing I would worry about in the Fiesta is it being under braked with that power and drum brakes on the back.

It is a fair amount of bang for the buck - remember that 154 bhp is max' output & not max' speed . . . . . :) - so the rear drums should be ok :)
