Engine Cutting Out

Featured Replies

Got a Ford Focus 2009 1.6 petrol. Has an intermittent fault which makes the car cut out whilst driving. The crank shaft sensor has been changed and no fault codes have been found by the rac or ford main dealer, but the problem keeps occurring, mostly when the engine is hot. HELP HELP HELP!

could be fuel filter related, when was it last changed?

Hi

Thanks for your reply, don't know when the filter was changed last. Will have it changed and see how we get on.

Do you think it could be the fuel pump??

Thanks

Lennie

It's more often this time of year the filter ad it clogs and the cold doesn't help. Had a crack in my filter housing one year and the same issue. If I kept revs low it was done but once I got above 2500 the cat cut out.

The car runs fine till it cuts out. This only seems to happen when its hot. It use to start straight away after cutting out, but now cranks over a lot before it starts again, normally after leaving it for a little while. any ideas?

Crankshaft sensor and wiring been checked.
