Featured Replies

Hi, everyone !

This is my new car ! Fiesta mk6 TDCi zetec s with only 36k miles one owner full ford main dealer service history, I want to buy some different alloys as I do not like these zetec s, will I be able to get some 17s? Without scrathing the archway and stuff??? I saw team dynamics are nice but I cannot find any near my location! Also I was looking at the k and n filter is it worth it? I want to do a lot to my car but first mainly I want some nice alloys and lower it maybe but not much just little.post-70701-0-33200200-1450475410_thumb.j

Welcome Patrick.. Looks clean and tidy. Don't see why 17s won't fit,. the ST150 has 17 inch wheels.

Great I want some nice black alloys, is the k and n filter worth it??? Also I wonder what is egr blanking ?

Very nice car and unusual to find a low mileage diesel these days.

The ford 16s on the zetec s are made of chocolate. Had a buckle repaired in mines the other day.

I'd get shot of them and get some team dynamics pro race wheels.

As for EGR blank. I've done mines. £4 off eBay and 10mins to fit. For me it would be the first thing I'd do to your low mileage engine. It will prevent contamination of the oil and clogging up if the engine with soot. It make no noticeable difference to driving the car but will give a healthier engine for the future.

Your 16s zs wheels fetch good money on eBay especially if sold individually as people like me are looking to replace a buckled wheel lol. I ended up just getting mines repaired.

I rekon a set of good condition ZS wheels with good tyres will get you £250 - £300 so you'd be able to put that toward your new wheels

RE : GARRYBOY1888.........

Egr blanking I do not really understand that lol but I will try and ask somewhere about that and get it done does ford recommend this egr blanking ? Yeah the miles are low and I was so lucky I find one like that and the car was in my town is well I just fitted led number plate today, next is headlights then alloys I will put my alloys on internet I did not no they can sel for that good price ! That is perfect! What do you think about the k and n filter should I buy it ?

Could you explain in bit more detail about tha egr please as English is my second languge please

Basically there it is a valve that let's exhuast gasses re enter the engine to be re-burned. It's only to meet stricter emmison laws.

It causes a build up of soot in the engine and contaminates the oil.

So the blanking plate. Blocks the valve to prevent this happening. Its ol on our older engines but more difficult to do on a modern engine.

Ah okay just watching videos on youtube at the moment but they guy says that engine management light will come on? Should I also buy k and n filter ??? Is it worth jt ?

The recirculated exhaust gases don't reburn & actually can't reburn as they are inert, they do however reduce the combustion temperature & as a result reduce the NOx & other emissions - which is why the EGRV is fitted

Do I need to fit that egr ? Just been to ford had full service 2 weeks ago they did not say nothing at all about egr blanking is it safe to have as I saw engine management light will come on dashboard

Lol he asked for basic explanation.

And its fine on the mk6 dv6 engine. Does not through an engine management light.

Yes, blanking the EGRV is safe

I am in the process of modding the air intake setup on my mk6 - guessing its the 1.4? Have found that removing the intake snorkel has helped but the airbox itself doesn't seem to be the best design.

Yes ? I will do it then is it easy to fit ? What could happen if I do not fit it?

If you choose not to fit a blanking plate, your engine will suffer from gradual accumulated carbon build up in the inlet manifold, causing major & expensive premature engine issues.

Just blank it & have no worries :)
