darvvader
Have just done a few little bits to protect my car over winter, just wanted to remind y'all not to forget about your cabin/pollen filters! Old and new..
GingerFlame
It's discusting to think you breath air that's passed through that. My filters were even worse!!!

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk I do both of our cars every second year. Can't say I've ever really noticed any difference or change. Old filter is usually a bit manky but that's it. Old filter is usually a bit manky but that's it.They're "activated" filters or something silly. The "activated" bit of whatever it is doesn't stay "active" for as long as it seems but the filter itself will still look the same Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

That's what I did and decided not to bother Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
stef123
I was thinking it was bacteria related, I seem to recall something from the fish tank filters but I think I'm confusing that with something else lol

stef123
Yeah it is carbon, thinking about it I think it possibly kills bacteria? I can't remember.

iantt
pollen filters just remove small particles, odour filters remove small particles and as the name suggests odours. lol pollen filters are cheaper. i always fit odour filters to my car. and you are observation is correct in the photo, the odour filter looks darker even though it could be nearly new.
darvvader
I think the old one was a carbon filter however, you can't see in the picture the amount of dust and crap that's been built up was truly revolting! The previous owner was a smoker and it stank of smoke so hopefully that'll help with the vague smell that the air-con produced! Upon realising a) how easy it is to change, and b) how quickly the dust and bacteria build up - I'll be changing this every year, especially if Ford don't when it gets its annual service!
