Alstdci
Can anyone help me please , my engine management light has come on on my 07 plate 1.4 tdci fiesta , plugged in the device & it's coming up with EGR valve , is it best to replace it or will I do any damage by getting a blank off plate for it , many thanks , Alan
DieselPig
Probably just blocked with carbon, take it out and clean it first. Bit late to fit a blanking plate as the induction side of the engine will be full of carbon.
GingerFlame
Get a terraclean service carried out, then blank the EGR valve. Keep it plugged in though so it doesn't fall open. If the EML comes on and won't go off then go for a remap. The 1.4TDCI responds VERY well to a remap
m1tch
Do you know that a blanking plate isn't already fitted? If there isn't then clean the EGR and then blank it - if the EGR is mucky then the rest of the intake might also be in a bit of a state.
