serverlyFrustrated
Firstly new to the forum I usually hang out with the land rovers. Now I have a problem with swmbo's fiesta. it simply won't start. it has the oil light and air bag light comes and goes but no others not even the immobiliser light. on turning the key nothing happens. the fuel pump runs and all exterior lights wipers horn and radio work. fault codes are U2150 and P1000. research online suggested a fault with the instrument cluster this was sent for testing test ok. I have tested all fuses and relays as well as cleaning all wiring plugs. Any Help ideas gratefully received many thanks.
MONDEO TXS 2.2
Flat or severely discharged battery ? Have you had it load tested ? Any spark at the plugs ?
serverlyFrustrated
Thanks for the reply. battery was my first thought had it tested was ok but was changed due to age no improvement . Engine won't even turn over, the lack of battery light and immobiliser or engine management light suggests to me something isn't turning on. reading online says if the fuel pump runs as it does then the immobiliser works as it should. How can I check the ECU/PCM is getting power?
GingerFlame
Have you checked the fuses & relays under the bonnet?
serverlyFrustrated
I have checked all fuses and relays both behind the glovebox and under the bonnet. I guess there may be some I haven't yet found. I will check later and post what I have found and where they are. Might there be some hidden out of sight? serverlyFrustrated
Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Got to look at it again after the festivities. Still seems to be a power issue. On checking relays have noticed if i remove and replace R3 ING with the key in position 2 both the front and rear wipers will sweep 3 times then stop followed by the front wipers sweeping once before stopping Both wiper switches are off. Also with the key pos 2 removing fuse 46 front wipers the rear wiper runs continuous until fuse is replaced then front wipers sweep 3 times then stop and sweep once more. Assume this is not right but is it connected.?
GingerFlame
If the fuse in question is the wiper fuse, both my fiestas have gone crazy when you remove the wiper fuses. Goes on full whack and won't stop till a new fuse is in www.yorkshiredetailing.co.uk - approved resellers of the Highest quality detailing & Valeting supplies
