I think this is in the right section, It's not a modification question anyway... But just reading a separate thread about spoilers and Mondeo 2.2 quoted a law on the spoiler lights, well relating to that I thought that DRL's were 'law' on all cars(maybe all vehicles??) after I think either Nov 11/12. Can anyone confirm this for me?? Just a general interest question really

Thanks in advance

Matt

Ahh I see, with regards to vehicle designs, why have I seen some mk3 Focus's and a few mark 6 Astra's with DRL's yet my Focus doesn't??? Same can be said for the Astra's. I can understand that if the car was made before November 11/12 and has been sat in a car park waiting to be registered but surely if the car had been made after this date?

DRL law became effective in Feb' 2011 for all new '' types '' of cars & small vans & only applies to models that go through the European whole type approval process after that date i.e. new or substantially facelifted models

Retrofitting is fine, and there are no legal requirements to fit them to your car, however, you can do so with sense and apply them to your car following the general light legislation, i.e. distance from sides of the car, height etc.
