Power Folding Mirrors Stuck Fiesta Mk6.5 1.6 Tdci

Featured Replies

Both my mirrors don't fold in or out when locking/unlocking the car but i can hear the motors working away and no movement. The mirror glass is adjustable on both sides via the control knob so i don't think its the fuse. In order for me to reset them i need to move them but they wont budge in or out at all for me to do so. If i really put all my effort in,it would probably break the mirror mountings which i don't want to do. Luckily they are stuck in a position where i can see clearly the traffic behind me whilst driving but would love for them to work instead of hearing mirror motor noises and then nothing. This is different car which i bought in a rush (same spec as mine) for my daughter so forgot to check the mirrors when viewing/testing it. So its been like this since we bought it and have never seen them folding in or out. Any ideas where i should start.

had the same problem on the mini ,and it was the motor in the mirror

After having a smooch around my 07 fiesta folding mirrors,i found it has no screws underneath but on my daughters 08 fiesta the driver side has 3 screws and passenger has none. So took mirror off the car to dismantle it to have a look at the motor and cog but could not separate the two halves fully. I could see the motor in the gap i made. Had to put the mirror back on as my daughter needed the car to go somewhere. Iv given up as its freezing outside and have ordered 2 new aftermarket mirrors off e-bay for about 95 quid with 12 month warranty. Daughter wants power folding ones as on mine as she says the neighbours go ooh when they see the mirrors folding and unfolding when we park up or go. Women!
