Lowering Zetec S Mk7

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking to lower my Zetec S on 30-35mm springs. Reading on this forum and others most people seem to go for Eibachs or H&Rs - has anyone tried Pi, Lo Suspension or APEX springs instead? These are around £75-100 cheaper. Any major differences to be aware of?

Also, how much is a fair price to pay for a garage to install springs?

Cheers!

Craig.

I'm also looking into lowering my ZS in the new year, one thing I can say is that if I do I'll be going for the Eibach springs - on a critical handling/suspension part of the car why would you choose the cheaper option?

You get what you pay for.

Don't get Pi. Had them on my MK7 at the time. Shocking.

Had H&R on my MK2 Focus and they were amazing. Had Apex as well which were good.

Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.

i paid £180 to have springs fitted & tracking done at Mountune......but a local garage would probably do it for around £120.

(It's around 3 hours labour & the tracking needs to be done after its lowered).

I considered lowering my ZS but where I live, too many speed bumps. The car is already pretty low.

Has anyone else used APEX springs before? Worth a go??

you'll have a bumpier ride than stock springs, but roundabouts are so much fun. get them to check your headlights too. it's only a 30 mil drop, but for the lights over a 25 metre distance is a lot. you'll may also have to adjust your mirrors too. yep. around £120 should be right to fit. pop a photo up when done.

happy driving
