Door Handle Broken...can Not Open The Door

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a fiesta TDCI 2002 4 door hatchback.

Yesterday I went to open the car, drivers side, and the exterior door handle is just loose, it is not pulling on anything to open the door. Fine I thought, open it from the inside; that does not work either. Central locking does move the interior door handle.

I have searched for any advise/videos but there does not seem to be any for a door that is closed, lock stuck in locked position and will not open. I believe I can get the interior door card off, whilst closed maybe, but do not know what to do or expect from there on. There appears on videos to be another plastic covering once the card is taken off which looks like it as to come off to get to the locking mechanism. Any suggestions on what is at fault and how I should proceed would be great.

Thanks
