I don't think it will damage them, the one I saw on a vid was wired in to the 12v and that was about it, the other pins dint connect to anything, the small IC just make the LEDs flash so assuming that is the same, it wouldn't do any arm as its not connecting to the BUS

plug it in to your PC and some Chinese chap will probably be spending your hard earned pennies before you see the weekend.

sadly I'm not joking, an alarming amount of "USB X" stuff coming out of china is riddled with malware.

I brought a bore scope that doesn't actually need any software but the disc had a couple of interesting pieces of malware on it, worse still, some devices have a small USB drive within the device, older versions of windows would automatically run this there by infecting your computer.

Like many things, if theres any doubt where its been, keep it out and keep it clean

Probably do, to be fair, I can tell when my cars been filed with Asda or vpower, not power, but it is quieter.
