Ford Fiesta 1.4 Cuts Out After Starting

Hi everyone hope someone can help. My gf has a 2003 1.4 petrol with over 100k on the clock. We bought it from an auction and since found the car to have a split crankcase breather hose. Went to ford and paid 8.80. Put the new pipe on and the car now starts and immediately cuts out. No engine light showing. Changed ht leads plugs air filter but still stuck. As an interim fix I have put the old pipe back on and the car holds revs as you would expect as it is dragging extra air through. Any help appreciated.

    Try removing fuse F16 3A or disconnect the battery for 30 mins while changing the pipe.

    Removing F16 or disconnecting the battery will reset the PCM.
