Painting grill satin black, is lacquer needed?

Featured Replies

Currently painting my front end plastics satin black, wondering if I need to use lacquer or not?

Obviously I understand the lacquer will protect the paint, but the shine that the lacquer will give kind of defeats the point of using satin black paint as I like the amount of shine it currently has, so do I really need it?

Think you've answered your own question there t.b.h.

I'm pretty sure you can get satin lacquer as well as gloss tbh

Are you sure you want to paint it satin black, and not gloss black?

Yes, as I have already painted it. Thinking 1 coat of lacquer will surely not give it too much shine?

Why don't you use satin lacquer if it's a satin look you're after?
