Fiesta Mk7 Radio issue

Featured Replies

I'm trying to diagnose a fault with the radio in my 2009 fiesta zetec, and work out where the problem lies.

The radio works as it turns on and off on the ignition but none of the buttons work, so you can't turn it up or down, on or off or over etc. The controls are not lit up.

Thinking it's the front control unit that is as fault but to complicate matters the hazard warning light and door lock buttons which are part of the same unit do still work.

Also the radio controls on the steering wheel are lit but also don't work.

On some occasions when I've been driving a long time, it all springs to life and starts working, but tends to be after about an hours continuous driving.

Anyone any ideas?

It may just be a loose wire or a wiring fault

Has the unit ever been taken out ? Or has a aftermarket hu been in ??
