GRP586
Hi Have problem with the hatch back door not opening with the dash mounted button. I have had a look at the locking mechanism on the the door and can't get my head around the electrical circuit. There is a micro switch on the lock itself and a micro switch on the key barrel on the back door, I'm guesing they make or break a circuit when the lock is locked or unlocked. Any details on the the way the circuit works after the dash mounted switch is pressed would make me very happy. Cheers
GRP586
Trying to track down the fault on the solenoid and wonder if anyone knows where the earth point is in the tailgate as I suspect it may be faulty Cheers
GRP586
Hi Found the earthing point in the the tailgate and it is in good condition. Thought I would have a look at the dash mounted switch but can't see how it is secured to the dash and don't want to damage it getting it out. TomsFocus
Does the solenoid move at all? If it tries to move it's probably a faulty solenoid, I got a replacement free from the scrap yard, the later ones are contained in a plastic box to stop them getting wet which seems to help. GRP586
Checked the solenoid and it moved ok with me pushing it, so I decided to put a direct live and eart to the solenoid. Could they make thoses pins any smaller? Got some movement from the solenoid. I then decided to check the dash switch and found even smaller pins. Couldn't get a good ohms reading so had a brain wave and linked the two wires that feed the switch. Hey presto the solenoid works like a gem. Thanks for your help
