Heater blower direction stop working

Hi all, I've had my 09 plate fiesta since November and gradually the heater blower direction has got stiffer to rotate. Today I flipped it from floor and upper vents to windscreen and it's become lose and now constantly have it blowing into the upper vents into my face..

my question is this an easy fix and can the parts be accessed easily?

thanks in advance for any help given

    Chances are nothing has broke. But the control wire (it's a solid metal springy wire thing) has popped out the back of the control
