Mk2 brake calliper bolt size?

Featured Replies

Hi,

i need to replace my discs as one of them has scored badly and warped. May have a seized calliper as well as the O/S disc was cooking hot compared to N/S as well as being scored up. So at the least I'll be replacing them and the pads in the morning.

What size are the bolts that secure the rear calliper bracket to the hub?

I think it's 16mm and that's the one of a couple that's missing in my set. Hope to crack on with it first thing before the weather changes!

thanks!

17 mm i think

Thanks, I think I'll bite the bullet and buy a new socket set because that's another one I'm missing!

The caliper bolt is a M10 / 25mm so the European head size is 17mm.

If you want new ones from Ford the part (Finis) code is 1471746.

Thread sizes and standard head sizes don't really apply on cars. I can't recall if the calliper carrier bolt head is 15 or 16mm though to be honest.

I'm more inclined to say 15mm but not certain.

I can confirm it was 15mm. All fixed now, the problem was a warped disc.

Thanks for for your help everyone.

nice to hear
