I'm planning to replace the gearbox oil on my 2006 mk2 focus sport 1.8 TDCI

I've had this car around 9 months and ever since I've had the car I sometimes hear a clunk during low gear change ,oh, and when sitting at idle if you take your foot fast off the clutch pedal you can hear a clunk noise, also the transmission light comes on/off and is currently on solid

Car goes into every gear superbly with no hesitation at all.

I was told if I replace the transmission oil then the noise and transmission light should go away.

Does anybody know how many litres of gearbox oil and what type of oil I need to put in my gearbox ?

thanks

You need 1.9 Litres on the 5-speed MTX75 gearbox and 1.75 Litres on the MMT6 6-speed gearbox

You need fully synthetic 75w/90 and it needs to conform to API: GL-4, GL-5, MT-1 or Ford Specification: FORD WSD-M2C200-C

my car is a 5 speed manual gearbox

So do I just go in a shop and pick up 2 litres of 75w/90 fully synthetic oil ?

Should I be changing anything else while replacing the oil?    such as gearbox filter or do manual cars not have a filter ??

cheers
