2007 Fiesta Doors won't lock/stay open, door open light on

2007 Fiesta, passenger side door has often needed a few goes to close, now the problem seems to also impact the passenger side and/or boot.  When I'm driving the door open light is on and unless I can get all doors and the boot registered as shut I can't lock it.  When you don't know which one's presenting the problem this is a !Removed! nightmare.

I've tried cleaning the contacts but I've no idea what I'm supposed to be cleaning really.  Before I take it to a mechanic/electrician is there anything I can try on it?
