Has anyone turned the drl's off and whats the easiest way to go about it? The bulbs are the same as high beam (h15) not the led strips. Bit of a waste of time in the summer but would be looking to use them as usual in the winter.

By law all cars built after 2011 have to have DRLS. If you turn them off it may be seen as a lighting fault.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I read somewhere if the model hasn't changed such as the KA, then it doesn't require DRL's... but if there is a face lift like the Mk7.5 they had too?

My post is nothing to do with the OP's question, just asking out of curiosity.

mines a 2013 focus and that hasnt got drls, so the above statement isnt exactly true.

. The requirement only applies to models that go through the European whole vehicle type approval process after that date i.e. new or substantially facelifted models. feb 2011

As above, it's considerable design changes after the above dates that require eu approval that require the addition of DRLs :)

I was quite surprised the facelift fiesta needed type approval but the facelifted Focus didn't....

I'm interested to see what happens if you pull the fuse as I'm trying to install the wiring but have already had them turned on in the bcm and it's put my side lights on and flagged up a fault as the relay is missing,

if you pull your fuse and your sidelights come on instead can you post up please
