Loud Exhaust

Featured Replies

I bought a 14 plate Ford Fiesta 1.25 petrol a few months ago. I'm convinced the exhaust is excessively, its sounds  like a boy racers car. Ive had it in the local Ford garage and they said nothing wrong, I took it to my mates exhaust place and they said the same, its just a bit raspy.

I sat in the back and got my son to press the accelerator and its loud. I'm not a car person but when I press quickly on the gas there is a funny induction sound coming from the airbox, like it a switch or valve opening to suck in air and the engine struggles to keep up.

Should the engine not have a cover on it while I'm at it, its only done 10,000 miles, only had 7 when I got it from the Ford dealers.

I could stick a we video on if anyones interested and can assist.

Our 2009 1.4 petrol fiesta is quite raspy too. Unless overly excessive it sounds normal.
