Increasing the mileage on a replacement dash unit

Featured Replies

Just replaced the unit on my Fiesta MK6 but found the mileage is from the previous vehicle. Any software available to increase the mileage?

On most Fords, an ELM327 with ELMConfig or Forscan software can increase the mileage. It can not decrease it, though!

A USB ELM costs about £15, the s/w packages are free (for Windows computers).

Search this site, or post here for more info.

Hi Peter,

Do you know where on FORScan I can increase the mileage? ELMConfig isn't designed for the MK6 Fiesta just yet.

No, is the simple answer I am afraid.

There are a few references to odometer adjustment on the Forscan site, but nothing very clear.

You have probably already tried this, but:

If you run Forscan, it should list the found modules. Click on the IC (or HEC if that appears instead).

Then open up the service functions menu, and see if it is there is a suitable reference to odometer or mileage.

As far as I know, if it can do it, it will appear.

Sorry if I have misled you, It looks like I should have said "most Foci, and some other Fords" in the post above!
