Ford Fiesta blue smoke

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI manual, and I have noticed on start up (after leaving for a little while) that it throws out blue smoke but when you take it on a run the smoking stops until you accelerate hard then blue smoke comes out again. Then when you drive normally without accelerating hard it doesn't smoke ( well not that I can see in any case )

it's had an engine flush and brand new oil ( 5w30 ) also a new oil filter today. But still does it. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

All engines are designed with some kind of internal ventilation system which controls vapors inside the crankcase, if a hose becomes loose, plugged fails it can cause the engine to ingest oil into the combustion chamber which produces blue smoke. Have a good look engine bay check all hoses ok.

My crankcase pvc valve is inside the valve/rocker cover. How do I clean that. Thanks

I am doing my pcv valve Tomoz on my focus just replacing them I know ones by the air intake which is easy.

but the other is located in crankcase also so I may have same issue as you n dunno how to get to this one.

only other option is give other pipes good clean out hope this helps

I don't know if this will help but in my air feed pipe/hose that goes into the right side of the turbo, it has oil all in the hose and going into the turbo, I cleaned them all out and looked again this morning after starting it and before starting it and there was oil in there again. Any ideas

If you mean the turbo hose you will get oil in there mate anyway it's common that

for the blue smoke could be anything from  loose hose to Pistons pal.

you putting decent oil in car
