The beloved Fiesta ST has gone

Featured Replies

So the time has come and I've said goodbye to the Fiesta ST.

image.jpegimage.jpegSo unfortunately now after holding off for as long as I possibly could as I didn't want it to go. The ST had just become a little to small. After becoming a daddy I was convinced the Fiesta would be fine and it would stay part of the family. But I soon found out this wasn't the case. The interior was fine I didn't mind it being a 3 door and putting the baby seat in the back. But the boot was letting us down and very little else would fit in with the pram in there. I never realised you had to take so much everywhere when you had a child.

So after 8 months of arguing with myself and debating what would be best. I decided to look for a daddy wagon. So this is the replacement

image.jpegNot my actual car as I've not had time to detail it yet and will not post pictures until it's done. As for a brand spanking new car it's not as clean I want it to be. I must say I am impressed with the Focus Red Edition okay it's not an ST but the running costs would have been a little to high at the moment for me to own a Focus ST. But I got a great deal on it just a straight swap and same monthly payments as the Fiesta.

The only thing that's taking some getting used is the gearing. The gear ratios are extremely long and having to change at 2500-3000rpm seems alien to me. Changing anywhere before this and the revs just drop so there's no boost from the turbo and no pull in the car. It's such a change from the Fiesta when you potter around in 6th gear at 1500rpm and then just touch the loud pedal and boom it's off without even a down shift.
