Ann Jennings
I have just driven my Ford Focus diesel 1.6 (2013) a short distance. Thought it was chugging a bit on the outward journey. When I returned, the fan was still going for about 5 minutes after I turned the engine off. Any ideas? Could it be the fan belt?h
jmurray01
The fan belt has nothing to do with the fan, it is an archaic term from when radiator fans were belt driven. Did the temperature gauge go above half-way when running, and what is the coolant level like? Also, this thread should be moved to the specific Focus section, rather than the "General Chat" which isn't for technical questions.
TomsFocus
Sounds like a DPF regeneration was taking place, nothing to worry about as long as you don't only do short journeys.
