Autobrite HD Foam Lance & Magifoam Combo

Featured Replies

Just picked up mine - down to £57 and comes with 5 litres of foam.  Very sturdy, has some decent weight to it and the plastics seem very tough and hard wearing! Very impressed so far! Bottle even has a reference to Full Metal Jacket.

Apparently she froths up nicely! As it's a Christmas present I technically shouldn't know until then, however, I'll try and get some usage on Saturday and post up some pictures.

suggests leaving it to dwell for 30 mins...that's the longest I've seen foam needing to dwell for...will keep you posted!

im getting a lance and foam but not looked into makes and what gives the best clean.

on another note, im liking the razer mouse mat any other razer gear,

I use Autobrite snowfoam just now, although with a £15 lance from ebay.

Picture here of it's foamyness -

I find it really good, only leave it dwelling for about 15-20min though before washing it off.

Thanks bud! to tell you the truth, the Razer mat was bought because of the size and material before I even realised Razer were starting to become something of a name! Despite being qualified in IT and having just built up a machine; I've just ended up distancing myself away from the subject that everything is new to me now - always the way eh?

Lance wise ive been using Cherry Snow Foam off ebay and using the Karcher branded foam lance (its ok but just doesnt allow the foam to thick up nice, how it should be) - so hopefully this new one should do the trick!

If it stays foamy for 30mins I'll be investing, I find that even on a cool dry day Its begun drying after 15 min's unless I recoat! However this might be due to my solution strength, it recommend's 50:50 but I mix it more like 35:65.

Unfortunately I find that snow foaming alone doesn't remove enough of the top layer, has anyone had any experience of a traffic film remover?

This stuff is a traffic film remover and also contains Sodium Hydroxide which eats at the dirt on the panel without damaging the car or the plastic - including the Last Step Protection (LSP). This stuff works at a ratio of 100:1 and continues to lather once on the car apparently until it becomes marshmallow like (suggested from various detailing forums and videos). Apparently it leaves the car looking very fresh as it removes oxidation etc? im going to give mine a blast tomorrow and ill be taking pictures and will write up a small review (weather dependant).

Test cars will be my Mk3 ZS estate and the Mrs' Mk2.5 ZS Hatch.

Yes i agree, tried it just the foam and still not like the good old fashion clean,if there is still small amounts of dirt left and you say dry wont you scratch

the paint as you said 'top layer'.

A snowfoam is a prewasher, it's job is to remove the "top layer" of grit from the paint before you begin your contact "good old fashion" wash of the car. If you have a well maintained paint work the use of just a snowfoam only wash can rejuvenate the paint appearance.

I see because a lot just use the snowfoam wash and that's it then rinse and dry and wax etc after, think ill stick to my rinse first blast then good soapy mitt wash and so on.

I always thought the snowfoam was a faster way to wash the car but if its still another soapy wash after it turns a lot longer job.

Cheers for clearing that up.
