Alternator

Featured Replies

Hi All. I require a replacement alternator. I have found a mechanic willing to fit it. Any advice as to where I should source one? TIA.

Martin.

Hi Martin I would try any local motor factors, they will give a twelve month guarantee.  I do not think you need a mechanic to do it for you it is very accessible just make sure you remove battery conections put them in a separate plastic bag wrap a bit of tape round them and leave battery in car very straightforward fit and retention drive belt reconnect battery terminals hey presto done.

Hi Jim, thanks for taking the time to reply. I have an alternator sourced now, but will let a mechanic do it, as I have no tools, time or practical experience with this kind of thing.

Cheers,

Martin
