Dash cam as CCTV recording.

Featured Replies

I think its amazing,we have cctv on the t.v just cheap ones that are color but don't record (1 front 1 back) so i have a old V2 Mobius  dash can so put it

upstairs on the sucker on the window and my its good and on a 32gig card so around 10 hour re-loop so 10 hours then goes over first file 5min file sections.

On 24/7 on house power and the picture even at night is the best yet.

Anyone else done this and if anyone knows what would a 64gig on a loop give me,is it just double around 20 hours.

Great to hear from people who tried this.

Tried it but not something I saw the benefit of giving where my car was parked anywhere on the street.

If you use a 64 you should get about double bug it depends on quality of footage...

See my car is on the back under a car port so its a massive benefit to have it recording 24/7 but never thought it would be this good, covers a large area.

The picture is so sharp and clear, then again i rate the Mobius 100% for day and night picture and also so many setting on the pc to mess with.

Jeebowhite.......seeing you have reviewed a nice few cams will it hurt it being on 24/7 on the Mobius, the heat sink get very hot but nothing

else its all cool or cold as its by the window glass,i cant see it being a problem as a lot of people have these on 24/7 on a Hard wire kit.

Thanks

Hi Jace,

These firmware are not really designed for long term running, however, it uses capacitor I do believe, which reduces the risk of electrical related faults. that said, the heatsink should cope well as long as its not in direct light, or heat paths.

It would be an expirement, it could last a few weeks without issue, but you may want to keep checking up on it now and then!

I thought i would add feed back to this seeing you have looked at a few.

Left camera running for 5 solid days on loop record, heat sinks did get very hot as they should do but then coming onto the 6th day it went dead.

Solid green light and nothing else, tried everything, linked to pc and open software but could no see it,charge it,so left it for a good 5 hours and heat

sinks still hot so next step was take it apart and remove the battery and left overnight, following day put it back and charged until green light went off

and all good as new, very weird thing as the green light was stuck on like it was charging and that the heat sink was still very hot and not on charge and left ages.

Is it running battery or capacitor?

Makes sense if its running battery!

I had it plugged into the socket through the right voltage charger what i got off the instructions,i did hope these had a cut off on the charge like

when fully charged would go onto battery then below a level the charge would begin again, amazing picture but worth a try.

Got a i.p camera in the window now which for £25 i didn't think it would be this good,24/7 record off s.d. card on 32gig card for 15 days loop record.

thats not too bad then!

Yes i still have it now working as a spare but cant be left on 24/7 as it will just shut down after a few days.

Just wanted to record 24/7 back and front of house as our outside ones don't,Gone down the I.P camera and there very good and inside window.

A 32gb card gives you 15 days record on a loop and on phone app when im out to view.

I use swan view 24/7 30 Days   dog 1 used to be to watch me dog at night
