No heating!!! Help

Featured Replies

Hi,

So it's freezing outside and one day my hose between the thermostat and the heater matrix broke, therefore emptying coolant everywhere.

I changed the hose myself but then I had no heating, the blowers work but just blows out cold air. I took it to a garage and was told the thermostat(and housing) needed replacing as it was leaking. I did ask if this will solve the heating problem which he agreed it would.

So I return home from garage with new thermostat fitted coolant flushed and refilled, STILL NO HOT AIR.

COULD THIS BE AIRLOCKS IN THE SYSTEM I can't seem to find a bleed valve anywhere online, would bleeding the system help.

It's the height of winter sometimes hitting -1 heating is essential.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks everyone it's a 55(06) fusion 2 1.4 petrol

This may sound stupid and unrelated to your initial issue of a leak but is your dial still connected to the gibbons behind the facia?

thanks for replying. But, I'm sorry you lost me with gibbons.

I did fit a double din stereo therefore disconnected the heater controls but the heating worked afterwards (if that's what you meant)

problem solved,

a garage told me the heating controls were electronic and could be a big job,

underneath the steering wheel to the right of the clutch, I removed a panel and there's some sort of metal wire type thing that connects the the temperature dial it had just come loose.

so anyone who's blowers work but doesn't blow hot this could be worth a check takes 2mins and 1 screw 😊
