mondeo st tdci battery issue!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can anyone offer me any advise on this please?
I have recently bought a mondeo st tdci 2005 and the battery keeps running flat.
It's a 70ah calcium battery 100 type, it charges and seems to be in reasonable order, bought a year ago i think.

Alternator reads 14.5v when running and battery reads 12.5 - 13v when off.

I disconnected the neg lead and did a draw test by taping the meter leads in place and closing the bonnet with the car fully locked and armed, it read 0.15a for 5 minutes and then blew the fuse in the ammeter, i replaced the fuse and it did it immediately even if i disarm and unlock the car.

Any ideas?
Many thanks chaps
