1.6 TDCI Engine issues HELP URGENT

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new here but thought this would be the best place to go for this sort of thing - my 2011 Focus 1.6 TDCI Sport is in the garage again after having the turbo fixed and currently having a new radiator put in as the existing one had corroded away, apparently, so coolant was pouring everywhere. Now I've had this car around 2.5 years and I knew of potential issues when I bought the car, but proceeded anyway. I've kept it serviced regularly, with the last one at the start of this month, and make sure it's in general good condition, however I still find myself in this dyer situation and at this time of year.

I'm looking at changing the car purely because of all the aggro it's caused me in the last few weeks and am looking at a Fiesta Zetec S, but also has a 1.6 TDCI. This will be a 64 plate so a few years newer, I was really just looking for some advice on whether to steer clear of it, thinking it'll have the same engine and therefore same issues further down the line, or whether the issue I'm having is just restricted to the Focus so still go for the Fiesta?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
