Battery completely Flat

Featured Replies

I have a FORD 2014 FIESTA HATCHBACK 1.0 EcoBoost Titanium 5dr Powershift. Sortly after I purchased it the car was parked and unused for 3days. When I went to start it the battery was completely flat showing a reading of 8 volts. My ford Garage could not explain why. The battery was recharged and everything was fine until 21/2 years later..... i.e 3days ago when exactly the same thing happened.  Nothing that I could see was left on. The car was locked during this period. Any body have a clue ????

It could simply be that the battery has reached the end of its life now.  Going flat can damage a battery permanently, and severely shorten its lifespan.  I would have the battery tested if it is still under warranty, but otherwise the best bet is just to replace it and see if it happens again with a new one.

I had this happen once and i'm convinced a fan didn't shut-down when I left the car. Now I always go back and listen for fans etc after a few mins. If a noise continues i'll have to give the relays a thump :)

I had this problem with my 64 reg Titanium X. My problem appeared to be the rear view camera (known problem) and a Ford software update cured it. My flat batteries occurred in a one week period not 2 !/2 years.
