Steering wheel radio buttons - update

Featured Replies

vol- button virtually never worked from new. Reported this at 1st service, as expected, it worked fine for the dealer.

Reported again at 2nd service, found to be fine and worked great for a few weeks although they said they would change the buttons.

I was convinced it wasn't the actual buttons, when you pressed the offender you could see the display flicker slightly, i.e, it actually did something but not vol-. Got them to change the button unit 1/11/16 and at 1/1/17 it still works, boy am I asking for trouble or what?

So, there must've been some canbus chipery on the button unit that was playing up?

I'll prolly report tomorrow that it's screwed again

its not normally the button but the connector that goes to the clock spring. every time your having the button changed they are probably just disturbing the wiring sufficiently for the button to work correctly for a while.
