Fiesta mk6 zetec s 1.6 petrol hoses

Featured Replies

I have a group a k&n filter on my fiesta but I have bodged the hoses by cutting the original air filter hoses to fit so it goes from throttle body across the mani and the air filter rests by the battery.

However the hoses won't hold anymore and it pops out of my throttle body.

I want to buy silicone hoses for it to stop this and prevent air loss.

The throttle body is 55mm so would a 55m hose stretch over it? Also I don't know if a normal elbow hose would be long enough to fit around the mani from the throttle body

Any help is much appreciated.

title says petrol hoses - I assume you meant to say air intake hoses

I think he means the car is a petrol...but he needs intake hoses for it.

Are the sizes internal or external diameter?  If the throttle body is 55mm externally, you need a 55mm internal diameter hose for it.

I'm not sure if it's internal or external I'll have to measure it, wouldn't a 55mm silicone hose stretch over the lip of the tb if it is 55mm internal diameter? Would only be a mil of 2

Silicone doesn't really stretch like rubber does, it tends to slip off if it's forced on.  The TB is probably thin enough for it not to matter but if that's 55mm external diameter of the hose it probably won't stretch over 55mm.

Do you think getting a 57mm hose would be a safer bet? And if its loose tighten it up with a jubilee clip?

I don't know lol, you've got the car and the tape measure!
