Mk6 GEM swap.

Featured Replies

Hello, first post on here.

I have a 2005 Mk6 Ghia with full options, but I quite like the EATC option on the Mk6.5.

As I'm a mechanic all the mechanical and electric bits aren't an issue but here's the problem.

I have the full heaterbox with all the actuators, full wiring and control panel.

If I wire everything up the EATC goes into calibration mode (all actuators rotating) and the blower goes on full bore.

I cannot get the display itself to wake up though.

I now know the EATC is activated by the MS-Can lines coming from the GEM.

Now my GEM doesn't have the MS-Can lines on it,

Can I swap over the GEM from the donor car without any problems?

Even reprogramming the options with an ELM327/FORscan is possible, but I'm worried if the PATS is part of the GEM?

Any comments/thoughts are apreciated.

RegardS, Jurgen
