Manual Climate controls on St-Line Fiesta

Featured Replies

Can anyone clarify the way the manual climate control is supposed to work on my 66 Plate Fiesta St-Line 140.

The manual says that the heated rear screen is the button on the right marked as E in the diagram, mine are the other way round.

The A/C button marked as F in the diagram has either a red or orange light on it, what does the different colour mean?

On these cold mornings all I want is warm air to the screen so I wind the Dial D round to the red area and turn the dial A to the required fan speed and that then turns on the A/C light at F.

I can then turn the A/C off and just have the fan blowing, what's the difference they both give  out warm air whether the A/C light is on or not.

If I switch the fan off and then turn it back to any speed 1 to 4 the A/C light then come back on again?

Doesn't seem very logical to me...

If you want to demist the windscreen press button G - that's the heated screen

Using AC will demist quicker and keep it clear as it's taking the moisture out of the air, AC is not just go make the car colder.

itf the centre dial is set to screen it will bring the AC and fans on.

Thanks, but as I said in my car the G button is the rear screen heater despite the manual saying it's the front. And the reason I was saying I want the fan to blow hot air to the screen in cold weather is because the heated screen automatically goes off after a few minutes.. If it's really cold outside I would have to keep pressing the screen heat button to keep it clear. Just wondered if anyone else had the controls the other way round to what the manual says?

Yeah I suspected it might have some drying effect but wasn't sure, any ideas on the orange vs red light on the A/C button, what does that denote?

Setting the air distribution to screen will cause the AC to come on when the fan is switched on, and it is very good at clearing mist / condensation from the inside of the screen.  However if the outside temp is 4 degrees or below AC does not operate although the AC indicator light stays on, thats why in very cold weather the interior is likely to mist up whilst you are driving.
