CAT C & D Cars - Unrecorded

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone knows a way round of getting a recorded car CAT C or D to an unrecorded status ?

is this possible ?

    No it isn't possible. A car has been recorded due to a claim on it for whatever damage the car has sustained and was uneconomical to repair. It is recorded for that very reason so someone can't sell the cars as a car that was not damaged. Some damaged cars are not recorded but usually they are stolen recovered with lock damage etc. To try and get a way around the car being recorded would not be legal and selling a car as unrecorded for example when it has been recorded would be fraudulent.

    So the simple answer is no I'd it's recorded it recorded and that it.

    You don't have to have it recorded, if there are no injuries & no police etc you can legally take the car home and fix/sell it.  Its only when insurance get involved it gets recorded, cat D can be a simple dent in the wrong place!

    However as above, once it's been recorded, that's permanent, no way to remove it.

    Take to Ireland register it then bring it back and register it again as non recorded.
