Tailgate wiring problem

Featured Replies

Ok so I have found in my tailgate 3 wires broken, not to big of a deal just match them up and extend them solder them back together easy! However they are all black! The boot lock high level brake light and passenger side rear fog not working, I connected them back up thinking they are all ground wires so it doesn't matter which is which, after I did the high level brake light works, the boot latch works but the fogs don't......... so do the wires need to be connected specifically?

do them one at a time when you get the brake light to work on the pedal then move on to the next two wires

How did you end up solving this? I had similar issues so I bought a cable kit but made the insane mistake of cutting all cables, and since there are about 8 black cables I have no idea how to connect them.

OOOOOH !!! 🙄

That going to take a bit of time to sort out. You will need a multimeter and you will have to check each black wire one by one and match up on the wiring diagram.
