Went to start my car up before and it seemed to take a while. By this I mean I turned the key and took my foot of the clutch as I usually do and it didn't start, so I turned the key again and give it another shot and it seemed to take a lot longer than usual. Any idea why this could be, cold weather I'm assuming?

How cold weather? Low temperature affects the battery which gives the starter motor lower power, making it "more difficult" to start the engine... This is completely normal when the temperature is under 0 degrees C.
